Match Report/Information

Our 8 hardy souls put up a great fight against the massed battalions of Killinghall; at least that's what it felt like. With 8, the only sensible choice is to bat first, and Waqas didn't let us down. Big strokes and a large slice of luck (mis-hits landing in vacant spots), 53 balls, 8x6s, 6x4s, 60 minutes at the crease; it reminded me of Nellie in his pomp. Dave's innings was equally as meritorious, with a 6 off the last ball to get his fifty. We knew that Killinghall would go for this and sure enough the early batsmen were swiping at anything that moved. Andy bowled straight and deserved his 2 wickets, Joe was way too wild and the rest of us were cannon fodder to those 2 old timers Webster and Morrell, Mark in particular is a dab hand in not wasting energy. His 64 came off only 22 scoring strokes. When Waqas came on his first 3 scoring strokes were all 4s. That folks was a master class and he can come and play for the crocks of Glass any time he likes.
