Match Report/Information
A glorious day, and the first evening league fixture we have competed in since 23rd June; a whole month. Rainton won the toss, deciding to bat (which is what Glass would have done), and that would have settled things, but Mr Boddy was superbly run out by Waqas from deep mid-wicket, straight into 'keeper's hands 1 inch from the stumps. Class. Everyone bowled steadily, but it was Amy who pushed things our way by taking 3 wickets in 21 balls, plus Joe taking 2 outstanding catches. So, 111 to get. Joe opened the batting, showing aggression from the start. He was helped by 2 dropped catches (apologies to Rainton; our boisterous colts were OOO in applauding the drops, and have been ticked off). Lee is a grafter with a gift for knocking the singles steadily, and then Big Ed finished things off with a long six, a beefy four, and a chancy single. A competent win, which augurs well for next year.
