At 2.30pm l said to myself 'It's stopped snowing and its not all that wet'. At the time, l was on the top at Greenhow. If it's lightening up there, then Glasshouses must be an oasis of sunniness. It's now 3.30pm and l am back at 400m and it is snowing as if it hasn't snowed properly all winter, and this white stuff is settling. This wasn't forecasted and even the local Jeremiahs hadn't predicted it. So, for the first time in my cricket-playing existence l can say quite truthfully that 'snow has stopped play'. Uncle Albert.
