Match Report/Information

A much more even game than it looks. The Bald ones looked like they had scored enough, though they did lift their foot off the pedal, scoring only 18 in the last 3 overs. Rakesh, small in stature, mighty in tonking, could have taken the total into the stratosphere, but a stunning catch by Robbie stopped the runaway train. In response 15 was scored off the first over by Glass and that momentum carried on; both Rob and Paul's 50s came in 27 balls and they complemented each other in style, so when Rob fell asleep at the crease halfway through it didn't matter because Paul came into his own. Thanks to the Bald ones for being such a friendly side, and it was good to see Richard Dale, even though he might have put on a bit of weight. He's scoring centuries for fun with Helperby and is obviously enjoying life there.
It's semi final time next, away to Killinghall on Monday 27th June. They are a powerhouse of batting, as are we when we put our minds to it, but it all depends on whose available to play. Ah, the vagaries of cricket (go on, look it up).
