Match Report/Information
We haven't played in the same league as Birstwith for many a long year. Nice ground to play on, friendly bunch, good chat and banter. Amy's batting augurs well for Saturdays game and the opening partnership was galloping along until herself declined a quick single 'l don't do those'. Paul near as dash ran two and wasn't far short of his ground. Dave hadn't picked up a bat for 2 years and swung mightily. Just think what he could do, if he attended nets. Shot of the innings was Jack's first four, a sweep/paddle off middle to fine leg.
it's hard to describe our bowling without offending the delicate sensibilities of my readers. Erratic, directionless, short, half-trackers, leg stump full tosses are all words in the dictionary. It was a moral obligation for the Birstwith lads to smash the ball out of the park as many times as they could. 20% of their runs were 6s, 33% were 4s. Say no more. Uncle Albert.
