Match Report/Information
reaching the semi finals of the George Greaves Cup meant that Glass were playing one of the stronger sides, containing some pretty decent players. Our bowlers stuck to their task and did well to restrict the Killers to 147. As always their total was based around Dan Atkinson, a mighty biffer who has that knack of not going for the good balls, just wait. Robbie bowled particularly well at Dan. None of the other batsmen got going and it was good to see Jack bowl tightly (though there were too many waist high balls, methinks). Come Glass's turn to bat, and we were up against a very sound and consistent bowling attack. Line, length, no rubbish at all. Rob battled hard but the asking run rate had climbed above 10 by the time he was out. There was the usual mid order collapse but that was due to the need to press on up against straight true bowling that didn't give an inch. A good game of cricket.
