Match Report/Information

The final evening league game of the season. Arthington won the toss and decided to bat.Game reduced to 18 overs
Openers Chris Binks and Tom Colley put on a fluent display of attacking batting. Chris' use of his feet to the slower bowlers was something the younger players would do well to emulate. Chris generously decided to retire shortly after the fall of the first wicket and the opening pair were ably supported by J Brennan and K Braithwaite. Chasing a run rate of nearly 10 per over Spofforth made a valiant effort being 39-0 after the first 4 overs. Spofforth openers T Lawson and G Masepp fell in the 4th and 5th overs leaving the home side short of fire power. J Corke responded with 42 but tight bowling from K Braithwaite who only conceded 15 runs off 4 overs saw the visitors home.
