Match Report/Information
The game that only just managed to get going. At 6.30 p.m Arthington only had four men ready to play and therefore had to forfeit the toss and allow Birstwith to bat. The late arrival of the remainder of the team shortly before the 7 p.m deadline was a result of the roadworks on Pool Bank and an evening cycle race in Otley. Despite having only 8 men at the start then the spin-bowling attack took wickets on regular intervals ensuring the Birstwith innings never really gained any serious momentum and only made 113 off 15.5 overs. In reply, Arthington lost their two openers and No. 3 Matthew Moss. Tom Colley took advantage of the short leg-side boundary, hitting 6 x 4 and 1 x 6 in his 45 n.o. Chris Binks hit the winning four in the 14th over to see the visitors home and remainded 16 n.o..
