Match Report/Information

Leake won the toss and chose to bat. Tom Hogg hit a rapid 22 before being bowled and 2 quick wickets by A Preece had Leake in trouble at 31-3 off 5. Dan Orchard then struck a powerful 55, including 4 6s in an over, and put on 80 for the 4th wicket with Sean Richardson who went on to a well paced 51 with a 6 off the penultimate ball of the innings. A quick 21 by Jamie Hogg saw Leake to an imposing total of 159-6 off 18.

The IC reply was dominated by an impressive 81 by T Preece and Ingleby Cross looked to be cruising to victory at 145-2 off 16 with Tom Spence's 2 wickets the only Leake bowler to have an impact. The turning point in the match was Alex Watson's 2-8 off the 17th over with T and A Preece both caught at long on by Josh Neilson. With 7 required to win off the last over, bowler Josh Neilson and the Leake fielders kept their cool and grabbed the win and the Div 1 league title for the first time since 2013 by the narrowest of margins !!
