Masham v Richmondshire

Unfortunately for all concerned there was no cricket for Masham tonight. Oversubscribed, Masham were hoping to grab some points at home this evening with a full-strength team. But wait! What's that? The creaking of ancient joints? We couldn't play on our home ground because the Yorkshire Coffin Dodgers IX have taken up residence. What a travesty; the home club not being able to play on their own ground. Let's hope their equally ancient bladders have managed to soak up a few pints each.

Despite frantic efforts to get the match played at Richmond this wasn't possible due to other matches being played there and the rest of the week is booked full with more cricket. Thanks must go to the Richmond lads for trying their best and I offer my apologies for the short notice at which we have tried to rearrange the game.

A special mention must go to Falsh who for some reason didn't get the NO CRICKET TONIGHT text and made his way to Richmond only to find he gate-crashed an u-13s match. Now way would Falsh pass for a twelve year old. Even when he was twelve. It just shows the level of Falsh's committment and it is appreciated.

Anyway, let's hope the old fellers had a grand old day out at Masham; that seems to be the main thing, eh?
