Match Report/Information
Scruton welcomed Newton to the glorious Scruton Oval, which looked fantastic from every angle. Batting first the Scruton openers started well especially P.Clemens who held the innings together before falling on 47. All the other batsmen chipped in with a few runs each to take the final total to 99 for 9 wickets. S.Coombs & N.Hodges both claiming 3 wickets apiece. In reply Newton started slowly with S.Brass bowling really tightly, conceding only 15 runs from his 6 overs. But once he finished the Newton batsmen scored freely and with only one wicket down reached there total in 17 overs. G.Brown 45 not out and D.Thompson 28 not out the Newton scorers.
On behalf of Newton cricket club i would like to thank Scruton for a well played game and congratulate them on all there hard work in producing a fantastic place to play cricket. A welcome addition to the league. Cheers
