Match Report/Information
Newton batted first on a good looking wicket but soon found runs hard to score as Brompton's opening bowlers bowled tightly. N.Armstrong conceding only 6 runs from 4 overs bowled. Once Dave Thompson came in at number 3 he battled away to the end to score a fine 42 not out to raise Newton to a fairly low total of 87 for 5 wickets. In reply Newton's bowlers were equal to the task especially Grant Yates-Brown who whipped through the early order to take 4 wickets for 19 runs. Then S.Coombs came on to continue the tight bowling and took 3 wickets for 13 runs as Brompton finished on 64 for 9 wickets down, N.Armstrong top scoring with 13.
