Match Report/Information
Sportsmanship: 5
Man of the Match:
On a moderately moist Tanfield wicket, the home team won the toss and opted to bat. Despite loosing Hodgkinson early, Tanfield set along at a reasonable pace, with S Clark (27) setting the standard with J Craddock (18) and S Abel (12) backing him up. Chris Davies ensured the batting point for Tanfield with a steady 16 before the cultured captain J Stainthorp stroked a beautiful 11.
Leyburn started there reply in near darkness and it was not long before the heavens opened and the inevitable occured. It was interesting to see Leyburn were changed and ready for home before the 2 captains had officially called the game off and it was very disappointing to see them sod off without as much as a handshake with the opposition. Even the Leyburn captain failed to shake hands with his Tanfield counterpart, very disappointing for a well known person in the area and a father of an international sportman.
