Match Report/Information
A good match played in the right spirit. Thanks to NLW for playing when it must have been tempting for them to call it off due to the weakened nature of their side. NLW won the toss and decided to bat and they got off to a good start with their openers batting through Scruton's opening pair of Hinton and Gallagher who whilst they bowled tightly wickets were not forthcoming. It was left to Minnis (25 for2) and Wright(17 for 3) to get amongst the NLW batsmen. When J kirby saw off the last ball of the innings and a possible hat-trick NLW finished on 88.
The Scruton reply got off to worst possible start when C Mellors was bowled with the first ball of the innings, but this brought S Hinton to the crease and he went on to put on a sixty partnership with J Wright in a matter of 8 overs. D Thompson then went on to take the wickets of Wright and Dick to finish with 25 for 3. The end came in the elventh over Scruton coming out the comfortable winners by 7 wickets.
