Match Report/Information
Leyburn won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a flying start with a quick fire 34 from C. Burnett who was supported well by I. Clarkson. K. Dawson then carried their momentum forward with a little help by some choice bowling from certain mavs bowlers (sloppy), well to call it bowling would be very polite. It wouldn't have looked out of place in the Olympic shot put team!
Mavs then had it all to do but M. Layfield got them off to he best start possible but the domino rally effect of the mavs middle order hampered our chase. Our genuine number 11 was even heckled by his own team as he played his test match innings, 5 runs from 7 overs when we were needing 8 an over, well done Pat! however, mavs saved the best til last with mackem pulling out all the stops for comedy moment of the season. Great slip mate but what commitment shown with the full dive back into the crease, unbelievable Geoff! Roll on last game of season.
