Match Report/Information
On a night of none stop drizzle with even the midgets been too frightened to turn out, both teams were still willing to play a evenings cricket.
The match was reduced to 16 Overs a side & Dales took to the crease first.
C Hardwick (32) & J Collins (18) got Dales off to a good start with a 52 partnership before a reluctant E Nicholson (5-22) was introduced to the bowling line up in the 8th over. Dales then lost 6 wickets in the same amount of overs before a late partnership of 26 between J Simpson (9no) & N Winter (17no) finished Dales Innings for 97-6
Watlass with a very weak battling line up were relieved to see their opening duo C Kindleyside (50no) & A Cooper (42no) get their eye in & bat firmly through the innings as a lost of either one of these batsmen could of seen the game go in a totally different direction. With some big hitting shots searching for the winning runs from A Cooper in the 14th over nearly took away his counterpart chance of a half century but with the game tied on 97 a piece. C Kindleyside hit a 4 to make his half century, a century batting partnership & to win the match on the first ball of the 15th over to leave Watlass 101-0
What a splendid way to close the 2011 season against a very sporting team, in a spectacular setting with new Pavillion facilities which will be the envy of the majority of the league.
