Match Report/Information

Wagon won the toss and after last weeks low scoring game , inserted Newton - Le - Willows. A similar performance from Wagon saw them bowl tight and field well. They took all their catches and rarely let a ball through. Willows left handed number 3 batted well but struggled to open up and started to run out of partners and needed more runs. He targeted the slower bowlers and put them away for the only couple of boundaries  in their innings. Another low target of 32 was set for Wagon and Horses to win.
The previous opening partnership was kept as M Tweddle and J Stevens went out to knock them off. This partnership didn't last long as Tweddle's castle was knocked over first ball of the innings. P Allen took to the crease in a rather drizzly evening. The fielding side were offered the rain but, to be fair, said that they will play through anything. The start of the second over saw the back of J Stevens. Second golden duck of the innings. T Graham joined joined Allen to T the crease. The rain got heavier and the shots started to come with Allen hitting a straight six to move Wagon closer. A mix of a few nudges saw Wagon closer to target. Allen pulled another six to finish it off.
Wagon winning with 15 overs to spare.

Another good game played in great spirits.  Thanks to Newton - Le - Willows for continuing to play when they could have walked off.
