Match Report/Information
Newton won a good toss and asked Watlass to bat first on a slow pitch, both openers fell cheaply to two excellant catches which set the tone for the Newton fielding all night. Skipper Dave Jardine held the Watlass innings together before being run out off the last ball for 34. Watlass's innings closing on a below par 63 for 5 wkts. In replay Watlass's bowlers had no answer to Newton's opener D.Wilkinson who stroked an effortless 53 not out from 40 balls faced. Fellow opener Gordon Chapman finishing on 8 not out as the home team completed a 10 wicket victory.
