Match Report/Information
Middleham won the toss and put their hosts in on a damp wicket and after the Scruton batsmen became accustomed to the pace of the wicket the run rate picked up the innings closing on 88 which was considered a par score for the conditions. The pick of the batsmen being Chris Mellor's entertaining 42.
Middleham in reply were always just behind the rate due to some quick and accurate bowling from Wilson and Earl, who are fast becoming the Anderson and Broad of the Wensleydale league. However if the Middleham batsmen thought the runs would come easier with the bowling changes they were mistaken as Dick and Mcorrmack backed up the opening bowlers with Scruton winning a sporting contest by 4 runs.
