Match Report/Information

As a lovely day turned in to evening the weather which has blighted this cricket season took a turn for the worst and as Scruton, having won the toss and decided to bat, took the field the rain started. The poor weather was to be as short lived as Scruton's opener Mellor's time at the crease when he was on the wrong end of one that kept low from the pub end. This brought Adam Dick to the crease who with Richard O'neil kept the score ticking along nicely with Adam even hitting a 6 bringing back memories of his youth. Some excellent and tight bowling from TW with E Nicholson's 6 overs, 3 wickets for a miserly 13 being the pick of them. After the opening bowlers finished their spell batting was easier and Scruton finished on 95, Atkinson top scoring with 33. When David Earl got TW danger man Cooper out for 8, Scruton's tails were up but those feelings were short lived as Skipper Jardine (26 not out) and Brown (42 not out) saw TW home comfortably in the end. Thanks to our hosts for a sporting contest and warm hospitality.
