Match Report/Information
Brompton batted first on a soft Newton wicket and found themselves quickly 2 out with only 9 on the board, but opener L.Jones battled away with 26 and the middle order hit some lusty blows especially J.Lain who scored 31.
Brompton finishing on 114 for 7.
In reply Newton found the going tough losing there opener in the 1st over. More bad luck continued when number 3 Wilthew was denied a boundry when he struck his own umpire at square leg a nasty blow to the shoulder. Bromptons bowlers continued to remain on top and Newton secumbed finally for a paltry 51 all out. Four of Bromptons bowlers taking 2 wickets apiece.
