On a rain affected wicket Scruton entertained, second in the table, Waggon and Horses. Scruton won the toss and decided to bat first and found scoring extremely difficult. Accurate bowling from P Lumb who only went for 12 runs of his full compliment of 6 overs, kept the scoring in check. Dave Plews 27 and Adam Dick 18no were the mainstays of the Scruton innings which finished on 72 for 3.
Waggon and Horses got off to an equally slow start with Andrew Wilson only going for 8 runs off his 6 overs and Geoff Minnis only 15 conceded and managing to take two wickets in his last over. In trying to catch up with the required rate Waggon lost wickets regularly finishing on 64 for 9. James Wright taking 6 wickets for only 5 runs
Thanks to Waggon and Horses for a sporting game on, for a change, a lovely sunny evening.
