Match Report/Information
masham took to the field with a motley crew of 9, which included an injured Gaz and a recently retired on Wednesdays overseas cricketer mike rees who were fortunately on hand and eager to play. The side was lacking a certain captain Roger the dodger of big games against top table side crakehall Smart who managed to get use 14 players, WHERE WERE THEY ROG? The opening pair made a dent in the openers bowlers’ figures. Well batted 52 helped from G.Francis. The first wicket fell in flashes first over which could only be hitting the stumps and was promptly given out. A handy spell from Ize produced a wicket and helped the bowlers cause. J.Lea losing his wicket last ball ended the crakehall innings on 154. Chase-able, yes. For masham NO. All hopes of putting your feet up to watch the cricket where slashed in the first over losing are shorts wearing AUS and also stand in skipper Sturd for a captins innings of 0 in the first over. This brought mass panic in the masham changing room. batman sam decided to also join the departed 3 balls later. A small partnaship built until Akose eyes lit up bringing hero gaz to the crease to wave of a unlucky 13 from me. Toby tried to hit it as hard as gaz but to no a vale leaving for 0. flash crashed two fours and tried again geting greeted to the pavilion with the words loser by one of the younger fans. bringing Ize to the crease at an unfamiliar 9th position picking up 1 to watch gaz go for a much needed 30 which was not enough. good game played in the correct spirit.
