Match Report/Information
On the best night of the season, the always sporting TW, won the toss, decided to bat and started slowly with only the stubborn batting of Loadman (36)and the aggression of their number 11 Blackburn (10 not out) putting up any sort of resistance. With even Adam Dick making his seasonal bowling debut in the wickets. The TW innings ended on a very respectable 88.
Scruton began their chase in a measured fashion and the opening partnership of Plews (33) and Wright(38 not out) almost saw Scruton home, with Andrew Wilson an ever present member of the Scruton team this season fittingly hitting the winning runs with a well struck four off the last ball of the seventeenth over. With our second season now over it seems appropriate to say thanks to all our players, all the opposition players, the umpires and above all the groundsmen(who have had a very difficult year) at all the wonderful places we have played this season.
