Match Report/Information

Man of the Match:Southgate good spell of bowling and aggressive with the bat
on a warm nay sultry evening at the home of the Mavericks, Middleton Tyas Scruton won the toss and elected to bat first. Brass top scored with 42 other highlights a measured 22 from Mair and the flattest six I have ever seen from Wilson. Southgate was the pick of the Maverick bowlers finishing with 5 for 29 off his 5 overs.
The maverick run chase started slowly with Wilson and Dick bowling tight spells. With the bowling change at the tenth over the pace of the innings quickened but Greensit and Minnis were not to be daunted by the big hitting of Mc Manus(35) and Brown(28) Steve Greensit finishing up the pick of the Scruton bowlers.
When Andrew Wilson came back on to bowl the last over Mavericks wanted 7 to win, the field retreated to stop the required boundary and despite some comedic fielding where an over throw was given away The Mavericks fell 3 runs short. A good game played in the best of spirits cheers for a great game lads
