Match Report/Information
Sportsmanship: 10
Man of the Match:A Cooper
As the curtain falls on Scruton's third season back in the Wensleydale league it gives me the opportunity to say thanks to everyone who has played for us this season, all the scorers, umpires and especially the groundsmen who have provided us with the excellent wickets we have had this season.
Scruton won the toss and decided to bat, Adam Dick and James Wright opened and for the first time both our opening bats got 50+ not out.The rest of the order chipped in with a few each and we finished on 146 off the reduced 18 overs. This was a competitive score and due to the darkening conditions and some tight bowling from father and son Adam and Harry Dick, Andrew Wilson and James Wright TW could only manage 88 in pursuit. Thanks also to Thornton Watlass for their (as ever) excellent hospitality, always a pleasure to play you lads.
