Match Report/Information

On a pitch that offered little to either batsman or bowler, West Tanfield batted first. Scoring was restriced by some good accurate bowling by R Kirby (0-5 from 3 overs) and T Conway (0-6 from 5) which lead the Tanfield openers to only scoring 21 from the first 10 overs. Once James Abel was removed for 10 the scoring rate increased slightly, but Tanfield were only able to post 79 for 1, with John Craddock scoring 43 not out and Andy Ganderton 18 not out. Thorp were always favourites to get the score, and despite the fall of regular wickets, contributions of 17 from R kirby and 18 from J Shanks saw them home. Tony Clark (2-21 from 5 overs) and captain James Stainthorp (2-14) both bowled well for Tanfield.
