Match Report/Information
Illness, injury, holidaying in Northampton and France, babysitting, school trips, swimming lessons(?!) and even a long lost Aunt from Canada coming for tea meant Masham could only muster 9 good looking men for the Wacky Wednesday this week.
"You've got to put them in on that!" "We'll skittle them early doors with those cracks".....following sound advice from the senior players Masham elected to field and restricted the home team to 156 for 3 wickets.
Had Burnett not found the short boundary sveral times the score would have been heavily reduced but the breakthrough didnt come until the damage was done. A big performance from The Flash Bang unfortunate not to be rewarded.
In reply Stone Cold Robhill Austin made an impressive start triggering Heke in the first over (if its out give ethos instilled by the captain-hope we got full sportsmanship points) after some impressive alcohol fuelled wicket keeping. Abbotson and Broadley got the game back on track and were up with the run rate after 6 overs.
Step up Hardesty to find the cracks and pee roll the middle order-game over. A late flurry by Falshaw and LSD gave the supporters something to cheers but kept them thinking what could have been with 11 men. A decent reply given the circumstances.
Lots of players back next week-a nice problem for the skipper, as long as we're still not wrecked from sunday- unlucky zee Germans
